Letting Go

Exchanged rings and names one beautiful spring day
Intoxicated with happiness, you and me,
Settled in quiet routine; moored in love's bay,
Fierce arguments sometimes, into your arms I'd flee,
Overnight or so it seemed, your love deceased,
Mangled words bleeding, life now a battle,
Silence reigned at home, inside broken beast,
Separation mentioned, mindless tittle tattle,
Unhappiness wrapped tightly in earth-like vines,
Formal meeting; quietly weeping I laid,
Single status reigns, independence brightly shines,
Faltering steps of tomorrow, the past I bade,
I'm taking my life back a meaningful fight
Packaging the pain sending it skybright.

Eleven 09

The world famous building stood majestic in the Manhattan sunshine,
Employees, innocently preparing for another busy day,
Suddenly horrifyingly two strange looking birds with steely gaze
Crashed with deadly precision into the impressive building,
Canonballs of fire and steel erupted immediately, viciously,
Thick black smoke swelled like yeast, gulping air greedily
Enveloping all in its odorous stench, surrounded by decay,
Metal, glass and stone merged with blood achingly,
Maimed and weeping the building was no more
Two stumps and broken bodies: the only remains
Rotting in the Manhattan sunshine.
